It could be 5-0!

What a disastrous outcome in the first Ashes test at supposed fortress Edgbaston. From having the Aussies on their knees at 122-8 on day one, England folded like the proverbial pack of cards, and managed to lose by a huge margin.
Consider the issues:
We can’t get Steve Smith out (until he’s got at least 140!)
Nathan Lyon looks a world beater
Even Wade scored a century
David Warner will come good soon
Jimmy Anderson is probably out of the series
Jason Roy doesn’t look like a test opener……yet
Moeen Ali can’t bowl or bat at the moment!
What is the point of playing Joe Denly?
Bairstow hasn’t reached double figures in his last 4 test innings (including a pair v Ireland!)
Bairstow was also poor behind the stumps
Buttler appears a shadow of his one-day self
Joe Root looked clueless with his bowling changes
At least Rory Burns justified his selection. I felt sorry for the burden placed on Broad, Woakes and Stokes - they now need a decent rest.
So, assuming Archer can come in (hope he doesn’t break down!) and presumably Denly and Moeen will be side-lined? Can we possibly beat the Aussies at Lords? Looks a tall order after yesterday.
And can we have two new umpires please? They inspired about as much confidence as Moeen Ali’s batting!
After such a brilliant one day victory it would be so sad to lose 5-0 to those Aussies.
